I would consider a de-stratification system. Lakes, reservoirs, lagoons and lakes all possess the problem of low to zero flow, which in turn causes stratification, layers of deadly toxic algae, and the buildup of gaseous toxins in, and above, the impoundment’s bottom mud layers. Lake aeration becomes vital for the continued life of these environments. De-stratification systems help to eliminate these problems.
If you are interested in an aeration system or fountain, we will have to design a system to fit your lake and then will be able to provide a cost.
Electrofishing is a unique way to examine your fish population for identification, growth, weight, genetics, diseases, parasites, invasive species, and many other important factors. Our process uses an electrical field to temporarily stun the fish within the field of current, thus causing them to come to the surface for collection. It also allows for a quick recovery once they are removed from the electrical field, and easily returned, without being overly stressed out. This is a great way to have a snapshot of the fish community in your Georgia lake or pond; for a better understanding of your fish population, while having the plan to manage their habit for a more sustainable outcome. You will receive a written management plan to better enhance the fishing of the lake.
Fish habitat (pond structures) is very important in a lake. Structure provides places for fish to hide from predators, shade from the hot sun, nesting and spawning habitat and place for food organisms to live and grow. The Mossback Structure is a durable, long-lasting fish habitat that resembles the natural look while providing great cover for baitfish and all types of game fish. Christmas trees, felled trees, wooden or plastic pallets, store bought structure, etc. are also good examples of fish structure. We also offer a line of structure.
Genetics is an essential part of a trophy bass lake. When largemouth bass become stunted, it may become necessary to change the genetics. Introducing a new strain of F-1 largemouth bass (such as our Oxbow Bass), once the forage base is adequate, will make a tremendous difference in bass weights. Smaller bass grow very quickly to begin with and consume a lot of forage intended for trophy bass.
Good water quality is needed for rapid fish growth and fish survival. Applying lime will help with this, as it provides a calcium resource for the small fish and helps form a cuticle around the egg cell to prevent multiple fertilization of a single egg.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you
received it (in its original packaging).
Pond dye is often used to reduce the amount of algae growth, deter predators, color your water, and help create a natural balance in your pond ecosystem. They are found to be most effective in controlling filamentous and blue-green algae and contain colorants that are like food dyes, which are not considered harmful to wildlife. Aquatic dyes are not herbicides, and will not kill the plants in your pond, but may help suppress their growth.
A siphon system provides the most economical means of regulating water in your lake and will also help remove the stagnant water from bottom of the lake. Siphon systems drain from the bottom of the lake, so very few nutrients which are viable to the fish, escape during drainage. These systems also enable the lake to be drawn down to any depth at will. We do not install or carry siphoning systems, but we can refer to people who do!
Golden shiners are important as prey of larger, predatory fish in the ecosystems in which they live and help take the pressure off the bream. Golden Shiners also eat largemouth bass fry, which helps reduce the largemouth bass population from overcrowding. Shad are heavy spawners and feed on plankton and organic matter. They are small and provide high protein food for bass, crappie, and other fish.
Supplemental feeding can provide an opportunity for rapid fish growth and improves the food chain. Our 3mm floating “Edge’s Fish Smack” is a 42% protein and 10% lipid feed that makes an excellent choice for fast growing, healthy fish.
Automatic fish feeders are a reliable source to feed your fish on time and feed them consistently. Quality fish feeders, such as our Texas Hunter Feeders, require minimal maintain and should last for a very long time. Automatic feeders allows you to observe your fish feeding and helps you become aware of any uprising problems.
